You only get a few shots at going to places and Florida was NOT on my bucket list.
The reason? Well I am getting to close to being one of those old people you find retiring to said part of the USA.
Also I am not a big fan of humidity . But the time of year Jan to April and the stuff we saw made me change my mind.
Here’s the thing I found out that Florida has a lot of different things going on these days.
But the stuff I want to talk about is the wildlife and plant life that is definitely Florida.
When my mother was alive she always had a fascination for Alligators and Crocodiles.
Lorraine is more into the Sharks.
Anyway we did the boat ride in the Everglades . Yeah I know everybody does it and sure it can be a disappointment. But it wasn’t .
The area was beautiful and the Alligators a little bit close for comfort in a very small boat , well it seemed smaller once this big guy came up .
We don’t know if this particular Alligator was hungry but he definitely wanted us to leave.
Alligators have territories and you don’t want to be upsetting said animal
This one came right up to the boat and circled around for some time . This was pretty menacing but we were mesmerised and just kept taking photos .
Public or Private? : It seems that the private boat rids are very good but extremely expensive. However in this case a private boat had been out an hour before and seen nothing whereas we had seen lots.
Luck of the draw! And at a better price too.
At this particular tour place they had Alligators in captivity and were breeding them too
The tortoises were huge and you see that pretty ruff around this tortoises neck?
Well thats not a decoration that is from Mal Nutrition.
All the animals here are kept for their own protection and were rescued from various homes in the area
In the sanctuary and around it we found beautiful Animals and Birds. The weather was good and the Alligators behaved well!
But who knows what they were thinking
